Lake holiday in South Tyrol

Lakes Caldaro and Monticolo, just a few kilometres from our hotel.

If you want to swap your hiking gear for a bikini or a pair of trunks, the three lakes in the surrounding area are an inviting option. While you’re swimming in the blue waters, sunbathing on the green grass or sipping a leisurely aperitif on the banks, a magnificent view of the mountains will be your faithful companion. And seeing as you’re there already, we recommend a stroll through the flower-blanketed Valle della Primavera.

Valle della Primavera

Between Lakes Monticolo and Caldaro, a hiking trail leads along the Angelbach river and through the peaceful woods, past gnarly roots, majestic alder trees and an endless variety of plants. The best time of year to take the trail is undoubtedly the springtime, when the liverworts, primroses and violets are in blossom.

Lake Caldaro

Nestled in the sprawling vineyards, Lake Caldaro is the largest swimming lake in South Tyrol and the warmest in the Alps and offers wonderful opportunities to rent a pedal boat here, sail and surf. The biotope on the southern banks is a protected conservation area and is home to rare birds, swamp animals and reeds.
